Either way, you’re running full speed… but toward what?


Here’s what I want you to know:

  • You’re not broken. But your mental model might be outdated.

🧠 CBT: Rewiring Thought Loops

CBT helps you identify the thoughts driving your stress, burnout, or people-pleasing—and gives you the power to challenge and change them.


Imagine this: You’re a mid-level manager aiming for VP. You overdeliver, pick up slack, and believe, “If I work harder than everyone else, I’ll stand out.”


Two years pass. No promotion.


Your internal dialogue? “I must not be good enough.” “They don’t see me as leadership material.” “I’m falling behind.”


This is a cognitive distortion called catastrophizing—imagining the worst and assigning it meaning about your worth.


CBT challenges that narrative:

  • Is that really true?

  • What’s the evidence?

  • What’s a more balanced way to view this?


Reframe: “I didn’t get the role. That doesn’t define my value—it gives me feedback.”

This shift reduces emotional intensity and restores your power.

NLP helps you shift the internal language that runs your day. Because the story you tell yourself determines what you chase—and what you believe you deserve.


Here’s what I hear from high performers:

  • “I’m just trying to keep up.”

  • “If I take my foot off the gas, I’ll lose momentum.”

  • “I can’t afford to fall behind.”


These phrases are packed with scarcity and fear. NLP reframes them:

  • “I create value by working intentionally.”

  • “I choose where I focus my energy.”

  • “I’m not keeping up—I’m carving my own path.”


Small shifts in language = massive shifts in identity.


🚨 The Danger of Public Metrics

Most men chase metrics handed to them—not chosen by them. Promotions, revenue, followers, hustle. These are public metrics—visible, measurable, and often necessary.

But they become dangerous when they replace all others.


I’ve coached men with impressive resumes who still ask: “Why does it feel like something’s missing?”


They’ve built the dream—but lost the fire. Or worse, themselves.


Public metrics reward more, faster, louder. But the hidden scoreboard tracks alignment, clarity, and presence.


If you don’t define your scoreboard, the world will define it for you.

Steve, a 38-year-old entrepreneur came to me burned out. His business was thriving—multi-seven figures, solid branding—but he was disconnected from his family and passion.
